I'm not an expert in photography. My critique but may not reflect factors that a more informed critic would consider. However, I do try to give fair and informative feedback as to why I rate things the way that I do.

Not all star ratings apply equally to all artworks. When a rating is less useful, I tend to give it a neutral score. This is not a reflection on the artists execution. It just means that the category was not easy to apply. In these cases, I try to be clear in the text of my critique.

Vision 2.5. (neutral/not applicable)This category is not easy to evaluate here. There is no obvious political, cultural, or artistic statement to the piece that I can identify. The intent of the artist seems to be aesthetic, and there is nothing wrong with that. The neutral score that I used is more a reflection on the category, than it is on the execution.

Originality 4. The artist used creativity in capturing the subject matter. The photo is fresh and interesting, and doesn't feel stale or cliche. I didn't give a perfect score, because it is hard to display a model and a cat in a completely unique way. However this is a fresh take on familiar subject matter.

Technique 5. The artist used strong technical skills to execute this photograph. The cropping is well done, and the outstanding use of texture creates contrast, depth, and visual interest.

Impact 4. The image is memorable and appealing. I normally reserve a perfect score for works that blow me away. Unfortunately that is hard to do in the visual media age when we are bombarded with so many images. This is still outstandingly executed.

Critic's additional comments:
Miau by DieZori is a strong, sexy and visually compelling photograph. The artist skillfully frames the image so that the viewers' eye is directed to the most interesting focal points. Excellent use of contrasting texture gives the photograph depth and visual appeal. Great use of lighting and technique work together to produce this fresh and memorable photo.
